"The Weekly (C)Wrap-Up - Only In New America!"

At the present time we are seeing things in America that we used to cringe about when we heard about it in other countries like Russia or Communist China. Now it seems to be commonplace in New America and no-one is really concerned at all. Yesterday I blogged about the latest atrocity that has happened because of the leadership of the last 8 years and that was the cover up of the death of PFC LaVerna Johnson. Due to the Freedom of Information Act and NOT from the Army itself her father had to discover that his daughter was brutally beaten, raped, burned and dragged from one place to the other, which the Army called a suicide. What is even more suspicious and saddening is that there is absolutely no mention of this in the CMSM (the C is for corporate). If you do a Google search you can see the Internet has been scrubbed of this story also. The GOP support of the troops is just amazing ain't it?! All them good upstanding Christians, waving the flag and looking the other way. What we will come to find out that this is just the tip of the iceberg and that there are probably hundreds of cases like LaVerna's being covered up by the military. Contractors are running wild in Iraqnam with little or no oversight and this is the result.

Everyone thinks that once the BCS has been run out of DC everything is going to miraculously change and the Constitution is going to magically restore itself and the very same people that created all of the problems are going to fix them. Let's not forget about the constant propaganda that the sheeple/people are being subjected to. The constant revisionist history. Making crooks, liars and warmongers hero's and legitimate hardworking Americans criminals by virtue of disagreeing with them. Here are some more links to stats about women in the service and also a petition for LaVerna Johnson.

Next up is that incident in Tennessee where a man opened fire in a church and killed two people and injuring 8. I do not want to talk about that incident itself but the underlying causes. The misguided anger brought on by the CMSM and it's mouthpieces Hannity, Savage, Limbaugh and Oh'Really. Jim D. Adkisson a 58 year old truck driver who was on the verge of losing his food stamps went off and shot up the Unitarian church because he hated liberals and is convinced that they are the reason that America is in the shape it's in today. How he came to embrace these views is by listening to the CMSM propagandists and talk radio host's. When they searched his house they found “Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder”, “Let Freedom Ring,” and “The O’Reilly Factor” all right wingnut propaganda that works on the less informed and/or stupid. It reminds me of the primaries when the Reverend Hukabuck called for someone to take a shot at Obama or Hillary bringing up Bobby Kennedy in reference to winning the nomination late in the process. Or even more sinister is the talkies with very little or no opposition to their lies and distortions, the Hannity's, the Limpballs, the Savages and Oh'Really's. These people spew that hot stinking garbage 24/7/365...

That is New American thinking. Given all of the facts about who is in charge, who has been in charge for the last 25 years and to actually believe the "liberal media" lie, or all of the crap they hear on Fux is just amazing. The propaganda works really well as can be witnessed by most of the New Americans!

Then of course that same CMSM has the nerve to run with the latest crap from the GOP and it's nominee for president, Grampa McSimpson and that is that Barack has played the race card. You cannot make this up! From Yahoo News:

WASHINGTON - Trading charges anew over who was guilty of injecting race into the presidential debate, a subject unlikely to fade away, the campaigns of
John McCain and Barack Obama also blamed each other Friday for its increasingly negative tone. McCain has accused Obama of playing politics with race for predicting that the likely Republican nominee and others in the GOP would try to scare voters by saying the Democrat "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills." Obama's spokesmen denied he was referring to being black, although all the presidents on U.S. currency are white. MORE!
I am going to cut that off there because it just gets stupider from there on. Yes. The McLame camp does have a little bit of an argument as to what Obama said if you take it out of context and spin it for political gain. Obama was talking about how the GOP would use his race against him to scare the American public with that remark. He never claimed that McSimpson was a racist but you can look up his voting record on black issues including the MLK Holiday and Affirmative Action that Obama is not far from the truth. in other words he doesn't have to call Johnny a racist his record speaks for itself. No the real story is the fact that for the last three or four weeks the McSame camp has been trying every tactic they know to "bring that uppity negro" down a couple of notches starting with McInsane's taunts about how Barack hasn't been out of the country and to Iraq that he has no experience in talking to other world leaders. Well that didn't work because Obama's trip was a great success. Then he tried to claim that Barack didn't go see the troops because camera's were not going to be allowed and that he was working out, when of course that is a lie also. The Pentagon stopped Obama from visiting the troops claiming it would be viewed as campaigning or some such nonsense. Not too mention the McLame camp had another ad ready to go in case he did visit the troops claiming...wait for it....using the troops as campaign props! Then there is the McSimpson ad comparing Barack to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. From Crooks & Liars:

The McCain campaign is looking increasingly desperate with each attack ad has chosen to take a tried and true approach to their latest ad — veiled racism. Referring to Barack Obama as the “biggest celebrity in the world,” McCain’s ad conveniently and quite overtly slides footage of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton into the mix. And poor Cindy McCain thought her husband was going to run a clean, positive campaign. More from Josh Marshall:

I note with interest today, John McCain’s new tactic of associating Barack Obama with oversexed and/or promiscuous young white women. (See today’s new ad and this from yesterday.) Presumably, a la Harold Ford 2006, this will be one of those strategies that will be a matter of deep dispute during the campaign and later treated as transparent and obvious once the campaign is concluded. Read on…

Upon further review, Britney might not have been the best celeb choice for the ad as she loves George Bush almost as much as John McCain does.

Nope no race injected into that ad. Is he calling Barack "the blond girl of the week"?! SOP for the GOP! However, I think the Grampa McSimpson campaign is finding out like the Clinton campaign found out that Barack is virtually unflappable, is a better politician, younger, smarter and a real pain in the ass to run against! They are doing everything they can to get some attention after Barack pulled Johnny's hoe card about his overseas trip. John has put his CMSM in a bit of a quandary. They want to report about everything he does and says but they can only over look the gaffes for so long before the sheeple realize that they are aiding and abetting the lies of John McLame. They are definitely lies because with all of the advisers and teleprompters he keeps making the same mistakes. If they are not lies, who wants a senile old man in the White House again?

Barack is not taking it either and like I stated earlier he plays politics better than his opponents. Here is the response that Barack has put together which ultimately spurred McWar's "race card" allegations. From Crooks & Liars:
New Obama Ad: McCain = Bush, Failed Politics & Policies Of The Past

After a barrage of false, negative attacks from Republican John McCain, Barack Obama fires back with a new ad which sends a clear message that he’s not going to sit back and let the false accusations stand. The ad hits the aging Arizona Senator at his weakest point — George Bush. True, showing pictures of McCain hand in hand with Bush is like taking candy from a baby, but it works. In the end, the ad builds on the growing sentiment that the McCain camp is running scared and leaves Obama looking…dare I say it?

Presidential.

Announcer: He’s practicing the politics of the past.
John McCain. His attacks on Barack Obama:
“not true”
“false”
“baloney”
“the low road”
“baseless.”
John McCain. Same old politics. Same failed policies.
Barack Obama supports a $1,000 middle class tax cut.
An energy plan that takes on oil companies, develops alternative fuels, and breaks the grip of foreign oil.
That’s change we can believe in.
Obama: I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.
Seems Grampa McSimpson was playing it straight today at a speech in front of the urban league. From McClatchy:

McCain kinder, gentler before mostly black Urban League

More on this Story

ORLANDO — Addressing a mostly black audience one day after his campaign accused Barack Obama of playing the ''race card,'' John McCain took a gentler approach to criticizing his opponent's plans for jump-starting the economy and improving public schools.

The hundreds of activists, politicians and executives at the National Urban League convention gave McCain a standing ovation before his speech and then listened quietly — a stark contrast with the spirited call-and-response that occurred with earlier speakers.

McCain drew mild applause for touting increased domestic oil production, tax credits to families and bonuses for teachers in troubled schools. A few people in the crowd grumbled when he talked about opposing affirmative action, though McCain added that he would "fight for equal opportunity.''

The article went on to say...

McCain faces an uphill battle in the black community as he faces the first African-American presidential nominee. Though a few people at the convention said they were undecided, most said they had already made up their minds to support Obama. MORE!

But enough about Barry and his Grandpa! How about those champions of global compassion and environmental bliss the Oil Cartels? More record breaking profits. From Thinkprogress:
exxon325.jpg

Exxon Mobil broke its own record for “the highest-ever profit by a U.S. company,” as second-quarter profits rose 14 percent. “Net income in the quarter rose to $11.68 billion, or $2.22 a share, from $10.26 billion, or $1.83 a share, last year.”
Even that wasn't enough because speculators thought the profit margin would be larger! From Rueters:
Exxon has record profit again on soaring oil prices

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil Corp said on Thursday soaring oil prices pushed its second-quarter earnings up 14 percent, again breaking its own record for the highest-ever profit by a U.S. company.

Net income in the quarter rose to $11.68 billion, or $2.22 a share, from $10.26 billion, or $1.83 a share, last year.

Exxon -- the world's largest publicly traded company -- previously set the high-water mark for quarterly earnings in the fourth quarter of last year, when it brought in $11.66 billion.

Despite the new record, Exxon's results lagged behind analyst expectations. MORE!

As I was reading the rest of that article it really sounded like they could have made more money if consumers just brought more gas.

Exxon both produces oil and refines it to make gasoline, and profit margins for gasoline were weak during the quarter, holding back earnings slightly.
So weak gasoline sales has held back their profits! Greedy, unscrupulous bastards. Yeah they work real hard fooling the people into believing they earned these insane profits! There is a big difference between earning and conning someone out of.

Meanwhile life is getting a little harder everyday for the common man. Unemployment rates are at a 4 year high nearly topping 6%. From Yahoo News:

WASHINGTON - The nation's unemployment rate climbed to a four-year high of 5.7 percent in July as employers cut 51,000 jobs, dashing the hopes of an influx of young people looking for summer work.

Payroll cuts weren't as deep as the 72,000 predicted by economists, however. And, job losses for both May and June were smaller than previously reported.

July's reductions marked the seventh straight month where employers eliminated jobs. The economy has lost a total of 463,000 jobs so far this year.

The latest snapshot, released by the Labor Department on Friday, showed a lack of credit has stunted employers' expansion plans and willingness to hire. Fallout from the housing slump and high energy prices also are weighing on employers. MORE!

GM will probably be cutting jobs in the very near future after post 3 quarter losses in the billions. 15.5 to be exact. Ford and Toyota also posted heavy losses due to lack of demand for trucks due to soaring gas prices.

Good thing dead men can't talk or they might be saying they didn't commit suicide and the orders to send out that Anthrax to certain reporters and congress critters came from higher up! it's just so convenient for the Army and those investigating the Anthrax case for Irvins to just die. Now since they are officially calling it a suicide, I have to really wonder whether or not he was killed. You know how our government cannot make the distinction between suicide and brutal homicides. From Yahoo News again:

http://9-11.se/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/131206anthrax_suits.jpg

WASHINGTON - An Army scientist committed suicide as federal prosecutors readied an indictment alleging he mailed anthrax-laced letters in 2001 in what authorities said Friday may have been a bizarre attempt to test a vaccine for the deadly poison.

The scientist, Bruce E. Ivins, worked at the Army's biodefense labs at Ft. Detrick, Md., for 18 years until his death on Tuesday. He had a long history of homicidal threats, according to papers recently filed in local court by a social worker.

The developments marked an unexpected turn in an episode that rattled a nation shaken only a few weeks earlier by the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Letters containing anthrax powder turned up at congressional offices, newsrooms and elsewhere, killing five and sending numerous victims to hospitals with anthrax poisoning.

Ivins' attorney asserted the scientist's innocence and said he had been cooperating with investigators for more than a year. "We are saddened by his death, and disappointed that we will not have the opportunity to defend his good name and reputation in a court of law," said Paul F. Kemp. MORE!

I wish he would have survived to really tell the story of what happened and who made it happen. Lot of conservative Christian types seem to be doing a lot of heinous things lately. However, this time I am real dubious as to Irvins being the one that sent out that anthrax or committed suicide. We will find out more as time goes by...The original person of interest Steven Hatfill just received a 6 million dollar wrongful arrest lawsuit. i guess they couldn't pressure Hatfil into committing suicide and blaming it on him huh?!

I guess now is as good a time as any to start the voting for the Asshole of the Week! however, we have yet another update of week before last's winner Micheal savage. From Thinkprogress:

Michael Savage booted from Los Angeles station.

In the ongoing fallout from his screed against children with autism, right-wing radio host Michael Savage has been kicked off Los Angeles’ KGIL and will be replaced by conservative talker Lars Larson, according to a Larson press release. LA is the second largest radio market in the country. Already, radio stations in Ohio, Mississippi, and Virginia have dropped Savage, and a host of advertisers have done the same.

Hopefuly this becomes a trend and we can get rid of the Hannity's, the Oh'Really's and Lush Rimpball's! Okay getting to it. the first nominee this week is Glenn Beck & Ron Paul for this from Thinkprogress:

Glenn Beck: Slavery apology is an affront ‘to the principles of Christianity.’

On Tuesday, the House passed a formal apology for slavery and racist segregation laws, recognizing that “African-Americans continue to suffer from the consequences of slavery and Jim Crow.” Yesterday, Glenn Beck spent nearly 30 minutes on his radio show mocking the apology. He continued expressing his outrage on his CNN Headline News show last night, during a discussion with Ron Paul. Paul wondered why Congress should apologize, since “we personally weren’t responsible.” Beck claimed that the apology “was a front [sic] to the principles of Christianity“:

RON PAUL: But when it comes to these apologies, you know, why should you and I make the apologies? Why should I apologize for you through a vote in the Congress? At the same time, you know, we personally weren’t responsible, you know, for that. […]

BECK: Yes, I think it — honestly, it is a front — I’m a Christian. It’s a front [sic] to the principles of Christianity. Forgiveness. Forgiveness. This country, half of this country fought the other half and died to free and to say, enough. This is wrong. We were washed in blood. I know — I mean, good heavens. There’s nothing worse than slavery. Why are we doing this and concentrating on this now? MORE!

I used to have a little respect for Ron Paul but he lost me on that "you and I making apologies" bullshit! Let's get this straight once and for all. When we as black people demand an apology it is not from poor ass stupid Americans that are also being oppressed but are too stupid to realize it, but we are demanding the apology from the US Government. They engaged in slavery made it racial and a cottage industry in America. Not you self important "get over it assholes!" Everything in the Universe is run off some kind of system. Just like white folks do in this country we are railing against the systems of racism and hatred spawned by slavery that still greatly influence EVERYTHING in this color struck country! However what upsets me more is the fact that a lot of black people feel the same way. Can you say Pedagogy of the Oppressed?!

"Who are better prepared than the oppressed to understand the terrible significance of an oppressive society? Who suffer the effects of oppression more than the oppressed? Who can better understand the necessity of liberation? They will not gain this liberation by chance but through the praxis of their quest for it, through their recognition of the necessity to fight for it. And this fight, because of the purpose given it by the oppressed, will actually constitute an act of love opposing the lovelessness which lies at the heart of the oppressors' violence, lovelessness even when clothed in false generosity."

Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed

Let me move on before I blow a tube. Next up for the coveted spot is Wal-Mart for fear mongering for the right. From The Wall Street Journal:

Wal-Mart Warns of Democratic Win

By ANN ZIMMERMAN and KRIS MAHER
August 1, 2008; Page A1

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is mobilizing its store managers and department supervisors around the country to warn that if Democrats win power in November, they'll likely change federal law to make it easier for workers to unionize companies -- including Wal-Mart.

In recent weeks, thousands of Wal-Mart store managers and department heads have been summoned to mandatory meetings at which the retailer stresses the downside for workers if stores were to be unionized.

According to about a dozen Wal-Mart employees who attended such meetings in seven states, Wal-Mart executives claim that employees at unionized stores would have to pay hefty union dues while getting nothing in return, and may have to go on strike without compensation. Also, unionization could mean fewer jobs as labor costs rise.

[Chart]

The actions by Wal-Mart -- the nation's largest private employer -- reflect a growing concern among big business that a reinvigorated labor movement could reverse years of declining union membership. That could lead to higher payroll and health costs for companies already being hurt by rising fuel and commodities costs and the tough economic climate.

The Wal-Mart human-resources managers who run the meetings don't specifically tell attendees how to vote in November's election, but make it clear that voting for Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama would be tantamount to inviting unions in, according to Wal-Mart employees who attended gatherings in Maryland, Missouri and other states.

"The meeting leader said, 'I am not telling you how to vote, but if the Democrats win, this bill will pass and you won't have a vote on whether you want a union,'" said a Wal-Mart customer-service supervisor from Missouri. "I am not a stupid person. They were telling me how to vote," she said. MORE!

Yeah they are telling their managers how to vote come November and its shameful. I guess the closer it gets to election time the less these become suggestions and become mandatory to keep ones job. Greedy Bastards!

Number three on the list today and who is an honorary lifetime member trying to get some extra credit is "Trick Shot Dick" President protemp of New America...From Thinkprogress:

EXCLUSIVE: To Provoke War, Cheney Considered Proposal To Dress Up Navy Seals As Iranians And Shoot At Them»

Speaking at the Campus Progress journalism conference earlier this month, Seymour Hersh — a Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist for The New Yorker — revealed that Bush administration officials held a meeting recently in the Vice President’s office to discuss ways to provoke a war with Iran.

In Hersh’s most recent article, he reports that this meeting occurred in the wake of the overblown incident in the Strait of Hormuz, when a U.S. carrier almost shot at a few small Iranian speedboats. The “meeting took place in the Vice-President’s office. ‘The subject was how to create a casus belli between Tehran and Washington,’” according to one of Hersh’s sources.

During the journalism conference event, I asked Hersh specifically about this meeting and if he could elaborate on what occurred. Hersh explained that, during the meeting in Cheney’s office, an idea was considered to dress up Navy Seals as Iranians, put them on fake Iranian speedboats, and shoot at them. This idea, intended to provoke an Iran war, was ultimately rejected:

HERSH: There was a dozen ideas proffered about how to trigger a war. The one that interested me the most was why don’t we build — we in our shipyard — build four or five boats that look like Iranian PT boats. Put Navy seals on them with a lot of arms. And next time one of our boats goes to the Straits of Hormuz, start a shoot-up.

Might cost some lives. And it was rejected because you can’t have Americans killing Americans. That’s the kind of — that’s the level of stuff we’re talking about. Provocation. But that was rejected. MORE!

Bush had a similar meeting with his British lapdog at the time Tony Blair about using UN planes flying US colors to provoke Iraq to attack so they would have a pretext for war. They went with the very flimsy WMD story instead.

A late entry into the pool this week is actor, and obvious wingnut supporter Jon Voight. He is also charged with right wingnut fear mongering like Wal-mart. From Crooks & Liars:

Jon Voight: Won’t You Think Of The Children? Obama Will Make Them Socialists! Oh Noes!

I generally don’t care about the political viewpoints of celebrities. Their ideology is no more or less valid than mine or yours, and frankly, I’ve never understood why someone who has gained notoriety for acting or sports necessarily merits being asked their opinions. But every once in a while, you run into something so hactackularly bad, so astonishingly free of facts or logic that you simply must call attention to it. Such is the case of Jon Voight’s op-ed in The Washington Times. At my most charitable, all I can tell you is that Voight has changed from the man of Coming Home and Catch-22 to the man who made Anaconda and Bratz, and that’s a very sad metamorphosis indeed. (emphases mine)

We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.

Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.

The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America. MORE!

I would have added more but the stupidity of Voight and his comments just made my head hurt a little more. Click the MORE! link if you think you can stand the Stupid!

Now this week I have to admit I am torn between that pair of assholes Paul and Beck but also the indescribable greed of Wal-mart and the mind numbing "stupiditeh" of Jon Voight! Imma let you decide this one, however I am leaning towards Beck & Paul.

Who's next! How about KKKarl Rove...Actually KKKarl should have been a candidate for this Week's Asshole but he is one of those guy's along with the Shrub that have permanent membership in the club. Anyway, if ytou don't know KKKarl has been ducking the Congress who is demanding he testify for the plame case, the siegleman case, not too mention the Attorney scandal. From Thinkprogress:

Rove calls contempt vote ‘ludicrous,’ admits to exerting no ‘personal privilege.’

While he has refused to appear before Congress, Karl Rove did make time to show up last night on Fox News. Sean Hannity asked Rove about the House Judiciary Committee’s vote yesterday to hold him in contempt of Congress for ignoring subpoenas. Rove called the vote “ludicrous,” but admitted that he has “not exerted any personal privilege on this”:

ROVE: I have not exerted any personal privilege on this. The White House has said we want to stand up for the doctrine of separation of powers and for the right of the president to not have his aides and former aides called up at the convenience of the Congress for no good reason at all. MORE!

Whether Rover presses for personal privilege or not his ass is not above the law and needs to appear or sit in jail until he sobers up. Power can make you really drunk, but a few days in prison will sober you right up! On a side note about this is the people that tried to make a citizens arrest of KKKarl and were arrested. http://wwwimage.cbsnews.com/images/2007/03/22/image2595273g.jpg From CBS news:
(AP) Des Moines police arrested four people Friday who attempted a citizen's arrest of former White House adviser Karl Rove.

Rove was in Des Moines to speak at a fundraiser.

A news release says a retired minister and three members of the Des Moines Catholic Workers community were cited for trespassing and released.

The four accused Rove of election fraud and conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud the United States in the time before the Iraq war.

The arrest complaint also says they accused Rove of treason, sedition and subversive activities for fraudulent acts leading to the deaths of 300,000 Iraqi civilians and 4,000 U.S. Military personnel.

Kirk Brown and Mona Shaw, two of the four arrested Friday, attempted a similar arrest last March when Rove spoke at the University of Iowa.
Well the other, other story is that they went before a judge this morning. From Thinkprogress:

Judge on Rove’s citizen arrest: ‘It’s about time.’

Last Friday, police in Des Moines, Iowa arrested four people who attempted to make a citizens’ arrest of former top White House aide Karl Rove, who was in town to speak at a GOP fundraiser. A retired minister and three members of the Des Moines Catholic Workerspress release, the judge presiding over the case praised their efforts: community were cited for trespassing. However, according to a

[Mona] Shaw was the first called before Polk County Fifth Judicial District Associate Judge William Price.

After entering her plea, the judge asked Shaw, “Mamn, what were you doing at the Wakonda Country Club?”

“I was attempting to make a citizen’s arrest of Karl Rove, your honor,” Shaw answered.

“Well,” the judge looked up and said, “it’s about time.”

Maybe they should have had some Tasers and tased his fat ass he would have went along with the citizens arrest. Tasers are non-lethal right?!

"We are watching a poorly staged rendition of Wag the Dog, interpreted for the morbidly stupid and performed by the criminally insane." -Jules Carlysle

That quote just about sums it up nicely! Another fine Judge today ruled that the "bush babies" do not have any imaginary made up twisted white housed logic privilage of any kind and must appear and answer to subpeonas. From Crooks & Liars:

Judge rejects immunity claim, says White House aides can be subpoenaed

White House attorneys are quite capable of coming up with creative legal arguments. The problem, though, is that judges aren’t willing to reward their creativity.

President Bush’s top advisers are not immune from congressional subpoenas, a federal judge ruled Thursday in an unprecedented dispute between the two political branches.

House Democrats called the ruling a ringing endorsement of the principle that nobody is above the law.

In his ruling, U.S. District Judge John Bates said there’s no legal basis for Bush’s argument and that his former legal counsel, Harriet Miers, must appear before Congress. If she wants to refuse to testify, he said, she must do so in person. The committee also has sought to force testimony from White House chief of staff Joshua Bolten.

“Harriet Miers is not immune from compelled congressional process; she is legally required to testify pursuant to a duly issued congressional subpoena,” Bates wrote. He said that both Bolten and Miers must give Congress all non-privileged documents related to the firings.

Because I know this is the first question on the minds of many political observers, I should note that Bates was appointed to the federal bench by none other than George W. Bush. Indeed, Bates has, in general, been a Bush administration ally (he threw out Valerie Plame’s suit against Karl Rove, for example).

But not today. Bates wrote that “the Executive’s current claim of absolute immunity from compelled congressional process for senior presidential aides is without any support in the case law.” MORE!

So I wonder how that is going to jive with this little problem to be for the BCS? Especially after the news about PFC LaVena Johnson, which by the way has not been uttered in the CMSM yet and the Internet has been scrubed of information about her! i'm guessing this has a little something to do with it! From the Muckraker:

Defying Subpoena, DoD Orders Sexual Assault Program Chief Not To Testify Before Congress

The Pentagon defied a Congressional subpoena yesterday by refusing to let the head of its sexual assault program testify at an oversight hearing about sexual assault in the military.

The House panel had issued a subpoena for Dr. Kaye Whitley, the director of the Defense Department's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office.

But Pentagon officials ordered her not to testify and instead sent her supervisor, Michael Dominguez, a principal deputy undersecretary for defense, in her place.

Whitley's absence came on the same day a federal judge rejected the White House's claim to blanket immunity from Congressional oversight in an unrelated case.

Dominguez told the committee the Pentagon was not citing executive privileged but had simply instructed Whitley not to show up. MORE!

I guess they figure if Miers and Rove can get away with it why not the DOD?!

Since this is getting a little long winded I have one more thing to leave you with and you can file this under GoP perversion. From Jesus' General:

Guarding the AG's manparts

John Godwin
Homecoming King
Executive Assistant
Office of the Attorney General
State of Alabama

Dear Mr. Godwin,

It's no surprise that the forces of homosexunistofascism and their allies in the dildonic technology industry are trying to bring down your boss, Attorney General Troy King. His work defending Alabama against the twin horrors of lovers marrying each other and women achieving orgasm (if such a thing actually exists) was bound to bring him into their sights.

Now, it appears they are also going after you by loudly wondering why you were promoted so quickly, why you make so much more than the average state worker, and why you have become Attorney General King's constant traveling companion. Combine those questions with the reports that his wife caught him passionately caucusing with another man, and you have a huge public relations challenge.

I think it's time you fought back. The best way to do so is to hold a news conference and explain to the press exactly what you do for AG King. Tell them you serve as his purity guard, defending him from homosexunistofascists who might try to have sexual congress with him while he's distracted or asleep.

I'd go into great detail if I were you. Perhaps you hide his manparts from lustful homosexunistofascists by taking them into your mouth or other orifices. Or maybe, you collect his seed so that none of Alabama's tiniest citizens, the spermatazoan-Americans, are accidentally killed during involuntary nocturnal spillage events. If so, explain it to the press. That's the kind of initiative one would expect to be rewarded with rapid advancement and extra pay. The people of Alabama would certainly understand that.

I'd be glad to help in any way I can (with the press conference, I mean).

Heterosexually yours,

Gen. JC Christian, patriot

I know I missed something and it will probably come to me as soon as I post this but hey you can't be on top of all of the news all of the time. So as usual tell me what I missed, got wrong or anything you need clarity on! Have a great weekend in spite of them!
