I am not a big fan of talk radio either from the gopigs or the democrats for that matter, because the pigs lie constantly and the democrats support those lies, however this caught my attention from Crooks:

Randi Rhodes Suspended By Air America For Calling Clinton/Ferraro “F@%king Whores”

At a recent appearance in San Francisco, Air America host Randi Rhodes went after Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton, calling them “whores” to a generally mixed reception by the audience.

“Hillary is a big f**king whore, too. You know why she’s a big f**king whore? Because her deal is always, ‘Read the fine print, a**hole!’”

Rhodes has been now been suspended from the network. Air America released the following statement:

Air America has suspended on-air host Randi Rhodes for making inappropriate statements about prominent figures, including Senator Hillary Clinton, at a recent public appearance on behalf of Air America in San Francisco which was sponsored by an Air America affiliate station.

“Air America encourages strong opinions about public affairs but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our Hosts,” said chair Charlie Kireker.

I’m a fan of Randi, but this is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is the kind of thing that happens in the heat of a long, drawn out primary season.

Now I normally agree with Nicole Bell most of the time but not here. Hillary Clinton nor any other Senator or public figure is above scrutiny! You put yourself in the public spotlight expect it to shine on you! Randi Rhodes was at a non-work related event, and it was pretty much a stand up comedy routine when she said what she had to say. Not on the air and she was calling it like she saw it, just like a 1000 comedians do all over America every night!

I was reading some of the comments bIi am surprised at the many comments syaing they were upset with Randi and her comments were over the top! Quick reminder: Freedom of speech means I can say anything I want regardless of who doesn't like it about whoever I want. Now I also believe there are consequences for our actions and what we say but this is political correctness gone mad! But lets look a little deeper!

Okay she called Hillary and Ferraro whores. No argument from me on that one, so let's just say the "heat" to get Randi fired came from the Clinton campaign, maybe not that whore Hillary but a campaign manager or similar type flunkie just the same. Over a stand-up comedy routine! Now the difference between Randi and Imus was that Randi was not on the air. That is the only difference too, they both got canned by political pressure, not listeners of Air America and the like, personally I thought she was pretty funny and should try to put some of the stand-up routine in her radio spot, but alas the right wing noise machine has gobbled up yet another liberal voice that has the guts to say what most people are thinking. You bunch of cowards! More of the political correctness and pussifcation of America and the American sheeple! The Liberals have been so beat down by the repigs that they are terrified to say or do anything that would look like they are standing up for their principles and beliefs and keep walking on eggshells afraid of what a mere 19% percent think! Granted the 19%'ers have the repig noise machine (the corporate media) working against them and it is a big hill to climb but the last 7 years spoke loudly and clearly for itself. I read one comment where a so called progressive was so shocked because he has never heard another person speak about a "sitting" Senator like that before...GASP! He must have missed cheney telling Pat leahy to "Fuck off!" on the floor of the Senate?!? Further more what ever happened to earning respect? You don't get my respect because of your birth name. You are no better than your deeds. No man or woman is and we can tell by Hillary's deeds she is just what Randi called her!

I've noticed that this doesn't happen on the conservative side of the dial! They can say anything they want and no one calls them on their bullshit and when they do they get canned. For example McSame can go on TV and lie his old senile ass off NO ONE calls him a fucking liar, the minute someone progressive says something true they are attacked with the full force of the noise machine. Lieberman who is supposed to be a democrat is campaigning for McInsane and no one has called him a party traitor or a rethug whore when it is obvious where his loyalty lies.
