The Weekly (C)Wrap-Up - The Death Of Conservatism!"

After the events of the last few weeks in my personal life I have started looking at this 360 shit, blogging and life in general in a whole new light...Here's a little bit of wisdom for you...

"Both the Righteous man and the Rat will stand and fight you once they have been backed up against a wall...The lesson is learned when you realize who is the Rat and who is the Righteous Man!"

Ok enough with that bullshit and let's get on with the (C)Wrap-Up!

First up is just more stupidity from the Bush Administration...Outburst's and temper tantrums and crying on the Senate floor...It's like third grade in the nation's capitol...The DLC and the DNC are both at odds and Bush is single handedly destroying conservatism forever!

The White Christian
Male Power structure is in jeopardy...According to Bill Oh'Really and St. McCain...From Crooks & Liars:

Michale Link:

Bill O'Reilly: But do you understand what the New York Times wants, and the far-left want? They want to break down the white, Christian, male power structure, which you're a part, and so am I, and they want to bring in millions of foreign nationals to basically break down the structure that we have. In that regard, Pat Buchanan is right. So I say you've got to cap with a number.

John McCain: In America today we've got a very strong economy and low unemployment, so we need addition farm workers, including by the way agriculture, but there may come a time where we have an economic downturn, and we don't need so many.

O'Reilly: But in this bill, you guys have got to cap it. Because estimation is 12 million, there may be 20 [million]. You don't know, I don't know. We've got to cap it.

McCain: We do, we do. I agree with you

(Nicole:) I don't know if Bill O'Reilly realizes it, but he just vocalized exactly the true platform for the Republican party and their mouthpiece, FoxNews. They are absolutely terrified of "The Other" not just being in charge, but of being of equal status. Thom Hartmann referred to this excellent diary at DU on how these guys actively try to silence women activists.

Fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here indeed! First it's the border problem, because we all know that Immigration is the greatest threat to the American way of life...Speaking of which, we come to Lou Dobbs...I had been a fan of his only because of his stance of the Ports sale, now he has reverted back to his true xenophobic wannabe crazy conservative self...I was feeling some of his ideas and plans on immigration until he got popped in a lie about leprosy...That is not the kicker though, the kicker came this week when he went after the NY Times...From Think Progress:

Dobbs: NYT are ‘commies,’ ‘fascists’ for criticizing me.

On the May 30 edition of his CNN show, Lou Dobbs previewed his response to a scathing New York Times article about him, by saying “We’ll tell you who’s really telling the truth and who the commies are and who the fascists are, who have the temerity to attack me.” Watch it:

David Neiwert debunks Dobbs’ response here. (More from Dan Drezner.)

Why doest the State Department want you to know about the beautiful new embassy planned for Iraq...From Think Progress:

State Dept. Orders Site To Take Down Photos Of The $592 Million U.S. Embassy In Iraq

On Tuesday, ThinkProgress highlighted photos of the U.S. embassy in Iraq, which is set to open in September. Projected to cost $592 million, the embassy will have a staff of 1,000 people and operating costs will total $1.2 billion a year. The complex will be 104 acres, which is the size of approximately 80 football fields.

The architectural firm designing the embassy, Berger Define Yaeger, recently posted the designs for the colossus on its website (which is currently down). Today, the State Department ordered Berger to remove the images. AP reports:

Detailed plans for the new U.S. Embassy under construction in Baghdad appeared online Thursday in a breach of the tight security surrounding the sensitive project. […]

The images were removed by Berger Devine Yaeger Inc. shortly after the company was contacted by the State Department.

ThinkProgress has captured several of the images:

Maybe it's because they keep saying they are going to leave...Well someday...Or Maybe it's reports of forced labor to help it get built...From TP:

U.S. embassy ‘built with coerced labor.’

Construction of the colossus U.S. embassy in Baghdad continues, projected to eventually cost $592 million. IraqSlogger reports today that American officials have reported “instances of appalling living conditions, abuse, and coerced labor” among the foreign construction workers:

During a telephone interview last weekend, [a high-level project manager] said the laborers “had their backs to the wall,” and had been living 20 to a trailer. Protests over First Kuwaiti’s bad food, abusive treatment from managers and unsafe working conditions were routine among many of the 2,700 workers during much of 2005 and 2006. […] MORE!

Hmmmmm...Now why would they just up and leave this beautiful embassy and nice campus?! They have no intentions of leaving Iraqnam...Actually they are talking about staying 50 years...Like South Korea...One big big difference in South Korea and Iraq...The South Koreans asked us to be there!

Defense Secretary, Top General Endorse 50-Year U.S. Presence In Iraq

Defense Secretary Robert Gates and top U.S. commander Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno both declared yesterday that they support the “Korea model” vision of maintaining U.S. forces in Iraq for decades.

Gates told reporters in Hawaii that he is thinking of “a mutual agreement” with Iraq in which “some force of Americans…is present for a protracted period of time, but in ways that are protective of the sovereignty of the host government.” Gates said such a long-term U.S. presence would assure allies in the Middle East that the United States will not withdraw from Iraq as it did from Vietnam, “lock, stock and barrel.”

Later, Odierno, who oversees daily military operations in Iraq, said that having “a South Korean-style force there for years to come” is a “great idea.” “I think it would be very helpful to have a force here for a period of time.” Watch it:

Modeling our Iraq strategy off the U.S. experience in Korea relies on a grossly inaccurate historical comparison, and runs directly opposite Americans’ view that the U.S. should disengage from Iraq. As Fred Kaplan writes today:

To sum up, we intervened in South Korea as a response to an invasion and as part of a broad strategy to contain Communist aggression. We intervened in Iraq as the instigator of an invasion and as part of a broad strategy to expand unilateral American power. We remained in South Korea to protect a solid (if, for many years, authoritarian) government from another border incursion. We are remaining in Iraq to bolster a flimsy government and stave off a violent social implosion.

In other words, in no meaningful way are these two wars, or these two countries, remotely similar. In no way does one experience, or set of lessons, shed light on the other. In Iraq, no border divides friend from foe; no clear concept defines who is friend and foe. To say that Iraq might follow “a Korean model”–if the word model means anything–is absurd.

Ahhhh what is General Betray-us gonna say in September...So we are going to let our troops stay targets for 50 years while Bush Surges all over the middle east?! Brzezinski says the same things...

Al-Maliki said that some of the officer corps have been creating problems and even violating the security of military operations.—Al-Maliki said that some of the officer corps have been creating problems and even violating the security of military operations. I'm not afraid, but I have to watch the army, because those still loyal to the previous regime may start planning coups…

Are we training the military so they can overthrow Maliki? So they can be used as security?..No wait….OK, we stopped training them, I forgot…Maybe…wait…There's too much here to comment on from me. If we ask Joe Farah, I'm sure he'll want to send over a few thousand Jack Bauer's to sort it all out. Atrios lists his reasons why we're in Iraq

This is NOT and episode of 24...When will the Neo-Clowns realize this and come join the rest of us in the real world...Jon Stewart put it best when he said they (the bushies) don't want to run this country but a made up pretend country...FOOLS!

Moving on...Speaking of fools Lieberman made a little visit to Iraqnam...He didn't haggle for rugs but rather cheap sunglasses...From Crooks:

Soltz: "And now you have Joe Lieberman who spent his Viet Nam War years in law school and claims that he's some sort of arbiter of patriotism going to Iraq wearing his fake Oakley sunglasses. And, uh, it's hard for me to know that he actually gets to see the troops because those soldiers, they wanted to talk to Joe Lieberman and they want to tell them the truth. They want to tell him what they saw which was that they're driving around and they're getting shot and they want to know when they're going home."

Oh yeah Joe things are so much better...I guess the rug merchants got blown up since the last time one of you Conserva-Cons took a photo-op!

Ohhh and remember that Congressional Black Caucus Debate that was supposed to be held on Fox that all of the major candidates are boycotting...Well there are a few that just don't understand or that don't care...From Crooks:

Biden-Fox-DebateGravel-Fox-DebateKucinich-Fox-Debate

Via Raw Story:

With the leading candidates for the Democratic nomination in 2008 shunning a presidential primary debate sponsored by Fox News and a thinktank associated with the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), Senator Joseph Biden (D-DE), and former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel have announced their readiness to stand in a controversial spotlight.[..]

Rep. Kucinich, known primarily for his push to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney and his strong anti-war position, criticized his opponents who were unwilling to show up to the CBC/Fox debate. Read more…

Pretty disappointing to see Kucinich completely missing the point of why others declined to go on the Fox debate. James Rucker explains why Kucinich with his calling out the other candidates undermines black voters and supports Fox.

Thia shuld effectively eliminate them from the race and subsequent debates...Sort of like that torture and evolution questions weeded out the Rethug debates and debaters...

BUSH FOLLIES...From Think Progress:

bushrain.jpg

Conservative columnist Peggy Noonan declares today that President Bush “has torn the conservative coalition asunder,” with consequences “for the American future.” This White House “thinks its base is stupid,” she writes, while “conservative Bush supporters have felt like sufferers of battered wife syndrome.”

With the conservative coalition reeling, Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) believes the solution lies in “rebranding” itself. He has convened a group of allies to work on conservative “branding,” an exercise designed to restore an identity to a coalition that “many voters no longer see as holding a core set of principles.”

“Fort Lewis, which this month has suffered its worst losses of the war, will no longer conduct individual memorial ceremonies for soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Instead, the post will hold one ceremony for all soldiers killed each month.” Fort Lewis’ commanding general wrote in a memo, “I am afraid that with the number of soldiers we now have in harm’s way, our losses will preclude us from continuing to do individual memorial ceremonies.”

Top U.S. commander Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno “warned” yesterday that “he may not be able to make a full assessment of the situation in Iraq by September, as demanded by lawmakers.” MORE!

Don't forget he was visiting with a few of his "friends" More like Daddy's financiers, which the arrogant little shit makes them call him Mr. President, threw a temper tantrum when someone called him on his stupid ass foreign policy in particular Iraqnam...From TP:

Report: In Meeting, ‘Wild-Eyed’ Bush Thumped Chest While Repeating ‘I Am The President!’

bushface.jpgGeorgie Anne Geyer writes today in the Dallas Morning News about President Bush’s strange behavior during a recent meeting with “[f]riends of his from Texas.”

But by all reports, President Bush is more convinced than ever of his righteousness.

Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated “I am the president!” He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of “our country’s destiny.”

Go Go Alberto, says regardless of a no confidence vote he ain't going nowhere...In other words, "kiss my ass!" From Think Progress:

Gonzales vows to cling to post, confidence or not.

Faced with calls for his resignation and a looming no-confidence vote, Alberto Gonzales today vowed he will remain attorney general through the end of President Bush’s second term. “I know that I only have 18 months left in my term as attorney general,” he said in a speech to law enforcement officials, promising to “sprint to the finish line” to “accomplish all the goals that are important to me.” Watch it:

CNN notes, “News reporters were carefully kept away from the attorney general so he could not be questioned.” 6:30 pm | Comment (51)

Finally this in respects to bush, his presidency, his administration and his disregard for the rule of Law and the Constitution...If you still support it or him and count yourself as part of the 28% that claim they are still behind him you are either Intelligently Dishonest, A crook , liar and criminal like those in this administration they admire or really just real stupid...Sorry I have tried give them the benefit of the doubt but every time I get my ass kicked...NEVER MORE!

Ok, one more thing...There is resistance growing in the field among our troops...When the traitorous Liberman was in Iraqnam recently the troops asked him when they would be getting out of Iraq...Of course Holy Joe parroted his...err the demo party...errr the Decider's party line...However, you still can't protest peacefully about politics anywhere anymore...From Crooks:

kokesh.jpg Wonkette:

Iraq veteran and honorably discharged Marine Sgt. Adam Kokesh has been the Pentagon's biggest public relations nightmare this year, because he's some kind of magical Cindy Sheehan - people actually like him! [..]

Kokesh and his anti-war veteran buddies have pulled several picture-perfect stunts in Washington, including a mock military funeral at the Hart Senate building and keeping score of how many times Alberto Gonzales said "I don't recall" during his Senate grilling last month.

The funeral stunt earned the protesters a coveted "political protest" arrest - apparently it's now illegal to protest anything for political reasons - and your favorite Marine was also charged with "Unlawful Assembly - Loud and Boisterous," despite the fact that he was silent during the performance.

For this, the Marine Corps is now "investigating" Kokesh, even though he's officially out of the Corps and banished from reenlistment due to bringing home an Iraqi pistol for his war souvenir - that's against the rules if you get caught!

On Monday, Kokesh has to show up at a hearing so the Corps can re-discharge him, this time dishonorably.

It's unbelievable how churlish this adminstration is.

Oh please oh please oh please, let Sean Hannity invite Adam Kokesh to his show to ask him why he hates America.

Yeah they are going to come after this guy...Nope he is no Cindy Sheenan...Looks like he was kicking some ass in Iraqnam and wants to kick some neo-clown commie ass now!

Well that is it for me for this...I might have more over at my over blogspot or not...I got a great post coming up on enlightenment and true freedom soon...I know since I have written this I do feel a whole lot better about me and my life...You got a problem with D...Then YOU have a problem not me!
